Privacy policy

Last updated: May 1, 2026. CollegeLibrary ("we", "us") provides library management software for institutions. This policy describes how we handle information in typical deployments.

1. Who holds your data

Your library workspace runs on infrastructure you configure: a PostgreSQL database (connection string via DATABASE_URL) and hosting such as Vercel. You are the data controller for student and staff records entered into your tenant; we provide the application layer.

2. What we collect on the marketing site

Contact and demo forms collect the fields you submit (name, email, phone, institution, message) to respond to inquiries. Optional email delivery uses third-party providers (e.g. Resend) when configured.

3. Cookies & sessions

The product uses HTTP-only cookies for authenticated sessions. Theme preferences may be stored in local storage. We do not sell personal data.

4. Retention

Operational data retention follows your database and backup policies. Workspaces may be paused if activation or subscription terms are not met, until you purchase, renew, or request deletion.

5. Data portability

Bringing data in is supported where the product provides import templates. Taking bulk operational data out through the UI is not offered as a standard feature; contact us for lawful access or deletion requests that apply to your institution.
